Goldie Lake is an awesome fishery in the Chapleau area for Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, and Lake Trout. If you are looking for a quality lake targeting Northern Pike and large hard fighting Smallmouth Bass is all in a day's work at Goldie. Lake Trout fishing is good and there are tons of tasty Walleyes easy to catch.

Goldie Lake Outpost truly offers the great remote experience being the only cabin on this unique lake. Goldie Lake is approximately eight miles long and is a tea stained with many bays, islands and points. Bordering on the largest game preserve in the world, wildlife sightings are common.

The cabin will sleep up to 4 - 8 people comfortably and has a large sunroom with dining area and is equipped with a propane refrigerator, stove with oven, solar lights, large kitchen area with running water to the kitchen sink. A wood stove provides plenty of heat to the cabin. Our outpost cabin is located on the north end of Goldie Lake with a sandy area in front of the cabin and a large 36 ft. floating T-dock for your boats with easy loading and a quick get away to your fishing spots. The Goldie Outpost is a great outpost cabin for everyone to stay, share time, and fish together!

Goldie Lake's other attractive feature is that it is very comparable to any fly in lake for quality of fishing and seclusion without the extra cost and flying. You will have the convenience of driving and parking at Happy Day Lodge and boarding the train at our location. You will enjoy a 20 minute train ride to the secluded Goldie Lake Landing where we will have your boats prepped and ready on your arrival to make the short, easy trip to the cabin. The train will stop within a few yards of your boats for ease of loading and unloading of your gear for your fishing adventure. The boats are 14 ft. Deep V StarCraft with 15 HP Mercury motors. They are good on gas, travel well with gear, and troll down nicely.

If you have stayed and enjoyed this cabin in the past, you will appreciate all the new features we have completed since 2022. We have upgraded boats and motors, new large floating dock, remodeled bedrooms for more bottom bunks, redesigned the kitchen, makeover of the front room that has an awesome view of the lake through the brand new windows/screens all the while dining or relaxing in the new cushioned loveseat with matching oversized chairs. A new solar system that provides plenty of lighting and has the capacity for those that use CPAP machines.

We are excited to bring Goldie Outpost back as part of Happy Day Lodge as this outpost was originally a part of Happy Day Lodge 50+ years ago!
